Why does Cristiano cry? Why does anybody really cry?

They cry because the emotions need an outlet and the feeling of overwhelm chooses tears. Philosophical right? Well, kind of. But you tend to feel better as the weight of those tears lifts. Let me ask you, what things do you cry for? I’m guessing the answer is – Important things. Things that matter to you. Things that you deem important enough to deserve your tears.

An example comes to mind – Look at things from a child’s perspective. Why does a child cry when he breaks a toy? Because that little toy meant so much to him. It was a part, an important part of his small little fantasy world that he never wanted to lose. He cries because he knows that it wouldn’t be the same ever without the ‘toy’ which had become a part of him.

Now let’s change the characters. Picture Cristiano Ronaldo and picture that broken toy as every loss in the game of football that he has come across in his life and answer the question – should Cristiano cry? I would, if I was him.

What we people sitting at home, watching the match don’t realize is, how much each and every match means to ‘Cr7’. Maybe he cries when he loses as the burden of defeat is too much for him to handle. Maybe he cries when he wins because he realizes what he has achieved, as that very match will never come back again in his life. This, for me, means that Cr7 lives ‘for’ the moment and ‘in’ the moment. Celebrating every win and grieving every loss. But then again after every loss he picks himself up and prepares for the next ‘battle’. Gives his all during the minutes he is out there on the field.

Aiming for personal glory does matter to him. I don’t really see anything wrong in that. Do you? Nobody is perfect and Cr7 falls under the same category. Maybe before criticizing anyone, we need to look at ourselves and identify our own shortcomings and the things we cry about. We need to ask ourselves this question – ‘Does it really matter to anyone else the way it matters to me?’ And I think you will get your answer.

Maybe we should stop judging people by their display of emotions. After all, wherever Cr7 is, it is his own hard work and talent that got him there. I learn from it and I firmly believe we all should. Not every player gets to be one of the top 2 players in the world.

As far as the G.O.A.T of football opinion goes, my answer is out there and it’s Cristiano Ronaldo. Who’s yours?
